Our Hub Model
At Acorn Education Trust, we are proud to operate a Hub Model that brings together schools in regional clusters to collaborate, share expertise, and support one another. This model reflects our commitment to inclusive, flexible, and sustainable school improvement.
Our Hubs
What is the Hub Model?
Each hub is a group of schools, large and small, working together based on geography, shared challenges, and strategic priorities. Every hub is overseen by an Executive Headteacher, who provides strategic oversight and leadership across the schools in their hub. In addition, we are working towards appointing a Hub Administrator, working closely with the Executive Headteacher offering administration support, and ensuring operational consistency across all schools.
The Hub Model is rooted in our mission to “prepare young people for their world in their time.” While schools work closely within their hubs, they maintain their individual ethos and identity.
Benefits of the Hub Model
- Shared expertise: Schools collaborate on curriculum development, leadership, and pedagogy.
- Resource pooling: Staff and resources are shared to reduce workload and increase efficiency.
- Responsive support: Hubs provide collective solutions to challenges in staffing, SEND, safeguarding, and community engagement.
- Preserved identity: Each school retains its unique character, vision, and values while benefiting from the strength of the wider Trust.
Curriculum and Support
Curriculum development is guided by what works best for each school, supported by proven approaches from across the Trust. Support is tailored to each school’s needs, with levels of support, high, medium, or low, determined through regular 360 evaluations involving senior leaders and specialist teams.
This collaborative model ensures that every school receives the right support at the right time, while remaining adaptable to local context and priorities.
